(9/7/2024) A new national memorial dedicated to the late Queen Elizabeth II has secured its future location.
The British government announced on Saturday that the memorial will be situated in London’s St. James’ Park, a site chosen for its “historical and constitutional importance” as well as its personal ties to the late Queen.
The memorial site is situated near The Mall’s ceremonial route and close to Buckingham Palace, the residence of her son, King Charles III. It’s also in proximity to statues of the late Queen’s parents, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother.
