Pinterest is a great, often over-looked, resource to find new niche ideas for your low content book publishing business. Many times, you don’t even have to leave Pinterest or click on the link that a pin is attached to, to get great ideas.
One great way to get ideas is by searching for “list” pins. That’s a term I just made up, but it accurately describes a pin that is simply an image of some kind of list. For example, if I type in “list” in the Pinterest search bar, I get pins with all kinds of lists on them.
A quick search will yield lists like the following:
These are examples of list pins. To find find list pins that will help us discover new low content niche ideas, you can type in search terms like “bullet journal ideas list” or just “bullet journal ideas”, and “journal ideas”, then locate pins that are “lists” like the ones above. Here is an example of a pin that came up for me when I did a search for “bullet journal ideas”:
As you can see, we can glean a ton of ideas for new low content journals by looking at the lists on this pin. A quick glance gives the me ideas like:
- A Music Journal
- Mood Tracker
- Lyrics Journal
- Healthy Eating Journal/Tracker
- Recipe Journal
- Favorite Restaurant Review Journal
- Motivational Quotes Journal
- Calorie Tracker
- Pantry/Refrigerator Inventory Logbook
- Stress Relief Journal
Lots of ideas just pop out at you with list pins.
Let’s take a look at another example:
This one is kind of neat too. I have no idea whose pins these are, so if these are your pins, thank you for the inspiration! A quick glance at this list pin will give you some great ideas too.
- Goals Tracker
- Daily To-Do List Journal
- Self-Talk Log
- Exercise Log
- Best Memories Journal
- Inspiration Journal
- Gratitude Journal
One really cool feature of Pinterest is that when you click on a Pin, Pinterest will show you a row of similar pins below it like this:
Check out all those pins below the main pin and notice that they are also mostly list pins. The amount of ideas and research you can do on Pinterest could be endless.
Below are some links to other examples I was quickly able to find on Pinterest:

Some other search terms you might try on Pinterest to find inspiring list pins are:
- Lists To Make journals
- Log Book Ideas
- Tracker Ideas
- Goal Lists
- Planner Ideas List
Sometimes putting the word “list” after the search phrase will yield more list pin results.
You can also use non-list pins for ideas as well. Pinterest is a sea of good inspiration for just about anything, including ideas for your low content books.
Now that you’ve found some great ideas on Pinterest, and you’ve made your own list of potential low content niches, it’s time to head over to Amazon and do research to determine whether or not those ideas are worth pursuing. You don’t want to spend a bunch of time and effort creating a low content journal or logbook only to find out no one on Amazon is actually searching for that kind of book. I learned that lesson a few times over in my low content publishing journey. Just because I think something is an awesome idea doesn’t necessarily mean other people do.
There are a few different ways that you can conduct research on Amazon. Different people use different tools. Check out this article to learn more about the research process on Amazon so you get it right the first time around and don’t accidentally start creating journals that don’t sell:
